In re T-Mobile Customer Data Security Breach Litigation

Herman Jones served in a leadership role in this nationwide class action arising from a data breach that exposed the personal information of more than 76 million consumers. The case was litigated before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Following extensive discovery and expert analysis, Herman Jones secured a $350 million cash settlement and drove an additional $150 million in mandated cybersecurity enhancements. This resolution stands among the largest data breach settlements in U.S. history.


In re Prudential Financial, Inc. Derivative Litigation

Herman Jones LLP secured a settlement against Prudential Financial in a consolidated shareholder derivative lawsuit. As local counsel, Herman Jones was instrumental in navigating New Jersey law on shareholder rights and securing three detailed written opinions in the District of New Jersey that clarify, fortify, and secure shareholder rights and provide for critical transparency to shareholders in a company’s decision concerning investigating allegations of wrongdoing and breaches of duty by its corporate officers and directors.

The settlement includes a $10 million cash payment to Prudential from the officers and directors alleged to be involved, which covers a third of the $35 million Prudential agreed to pay in a separate securities class action related to the same alleged conduct. That securities lawsuit settled for $35 million in 2024. As part of the settlement, Prudential has agreed to implement certain corporate governance measures and policies to strengthen oversight and protect shareholder interests.


In Re HF Foods Group Derivative Litigation

Herman Jones LLP served as lead counsel in this shareholder derivative action in Delaware Chancery Court, recouping $9.25 million from former officers and directors of the Company.

In Re Apple Shareholder Litigation
Civil Action No. 4:19-cv-05863-YGR (N.D.C.A.) and 19-cv-355213 (Alameda County Superior Ct.)

In these consolidated shareholder derivative actions arising out of the Batterygate scandal that led to a $500 m settlement in the consumer class action and a $490 m settlement in a securities fraud case, the Northern District of California approved a final settlement containing significant shareholder derivative reforms.  Herman Jones LLP played a significant role in this litigation and the complex negotiations leading to the corporate governance reforms for shareholders.


In Re Mohawk Derivative Litigation

After nearly five years of hard fought litigation, the Northern District of Georgia awarded final approval to a landmark settlement in the consolidated Mohawk Industries’ shareholder derivative actions. In achieving significant corporate governance reforms, Herman Jones LLP attorneys once again successfully enforced shareholder rights.
